Adding and Editing Menus

Menus will be the most complex topic I will cover on this page. Menus will be complex because, like formatting, each page will have their menus set up a little different. In most cases, the main menu will be located in a file called "banner.php". Below is an example of this pages banner.php.

This example uses most of the tags shown on this page and a few that aren't, so please be careful if you choose to edit the menu yourself.

To change the name of a menu item, you can simply change the name listed in black. Editing these names will not change anything but the name. To change the page that the link goes to, you will need to change the file listed after the href=". If you edit this, make sure that the new file being referenced is located in the main public_html folder on the server or this will break the link.

To add or remove a menu option, you can either delete the whole line of the option you no longer want, or copy a line, paste it where you want the new option to be, then edit the name and target. When deleting a line, make sure that there is only one menu option per line so you do not delete two on accident. If you are not sure, do not delete it and call or email me.

Hopefully these tips will help some. Again, I can make any page edits to pages that I have built free of charge, so please do not hesitate to call or email me with any changes that are needed.
